Job summary

Conagra Brands, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Council Bluffs facility. You will lead the second shift maintenance team, scheduling work and resources to support production demands and maintain preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years in supervisory or team leadership roles.
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience leading teams in a union manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Train, motivate, and direct team members to follow safe work practices and SOPs.
  • Schedule maintenance activities and allocate workforce resources to support production requirements.
  • Monitor downtime and line efficiencies to identify maintenance trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain equipment performance while managing resources and complying with union agreements and USDA regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance maintenance team performance and line reliability.
  • Participate in predictive and preventive maintenance to improve uptime.
  • Evaluate maintenance frequencies and effectiveness to optimize resources and reliability.
  • Promote a safe workplace by integrating safety into all activities.
  • Foster a team environment focused on safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices to maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Report conditions impacting food safety, quality, or safety.

Job description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager at our Council Bluffs facility, you will lead the second shift maintenance team to ensure production lines, associated equipment, and facility systems operate efficiently and reliably. You will schedule work and team resources to support production demands, maintain preventive maintenance programs, and help achieve plant safety, reliability, quality, and operational goals. You will also support mechanical integrity and equipment reliability initiatives that enhance employee safety, environmental stewardship, plant availability, product quality, and cost effectiveness. Your Responsibilities
  • Train, motivate, and direct team members to follow safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule maintenance activities and allocate workforce resources to support production requirements.
  • Monitor downtime events and production line efficiencies, identifying maintenance trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain equipment performance while managing department resources and complying with union agreements and United States Department of Agriculture regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance team performance and production line reliability.
  • Participate in predictive and preventive maintenance activities to improve equipment uptime.
  • Evaluate preventive and predictive maintenance frequencies and effectiveness to optimize workforce utilization and equipment reliability.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and healthy workplace by incorporating safety into all activities.
  • Foster a team environment focused on personnel safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and help maintain sanitary conditions throughout the facility.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may negatively impact food safety, product quality, environmental compliance, or employee safety.
Ingredients Required for Your Success
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of industrial equipment, preventive maintenance systems, and safety standards.
  • Experience managing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience leading teams in a union manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.

Physical Requirements More information about essential tasks and the facility will be shared during the hiring process. This role may require you to be in our manufacturing facilities. When visiting these sites, the physical requirements below may apply: You may be required to walk around the facility, climb stairs/ladders, kneel, or perform repetitive tasks that require hand-eye coordination. You may be required to lift or carry materials that can vary in weight and size. This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.

Compensation
  • Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
