Job summary

American Avenue is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician (Property Engineer Captain) to guide a team of Property Engineers and ensure top-notch resident experience.

You will train new hires, optimize daily task assignments with the GM, and lead in emergencies to resolve issues quickly while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and a positive team culture. This role requires a hands-on, travel-ready coach who can recruit, mentor, and elevate performance across the market.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of renovation, turn, or maintenance experience, including 5+ years hands-on work on homes.
• 5+ years of people management managing at least 5 contributors.
• Strong problem-solver with execution mindset.
• Hands-on, travel-ready lifestyle.
• Coach-first mentality focused on teaching and elevating the team.
• Desire to build and implement new tech/tools for field success.
• Culture-minded with ability to foster camaraderie.

Responsibilities

• Train and personally approve every new hire.
• Maximize efficiency by coordinating task assignments with the GM.
• Lead in emergencies with Dispatchers to identify fastest resolution path.
• Assist in interview processes (Home Walk Evaluations).
