Job summary

Centerspace is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine and major repairs, HVAC upkeep, and preventive maintenance across the property. This role requires self-direction, reliability, and the ability to coordinate with community leadership and tenants.

You will be responsible for maintaining building systems, executing safety protocols, and supporting capital improvements while ensuring minimal downtime and tenant satisfaction. On-call rotation and local travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA, CPO and/or boiler operator licenses preferred.
• HVAC, electrical and plumbing certifications/licenses preferred.
• Certifications may be required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs of mechanical or aesthetic issues to keep the property functional and safe.
• Maintain HVAC systems, including motors and bearings, and service mechanical rooms.
• Replace light bulbs, service valves, clean mechanical spaces, and perform basic plumbing tasks.
• Support environmental conditions and inventory for building mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with contractors for major inspections and capital improvements.
• Maintain operating logs and monitor temperatures, pressures, and chemical levels of heavy equipment.
• Assist with safety procedures, on-call rotations, and emergency responses.
• Provide cross-functional support between community leaders, managers, and tenants.
