Job summary

Synerfac Technical Staffing seeks an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead a large, highly automated facility in Uxbridge, MA. You will supervise maintenance technicians, oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical, mechanical, and automated equipment.

The role demands strong leadership, KPI discipline, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to support weekend and holiday schedules and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a maintenance leadership or management position with direct reports.
• Experience in highly automated environments (manufacturing, distribution, logistics).
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience with conveyors/ automated robotics preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates without degree may have 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends/holidays and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safety-first culture across the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations; conduct safety audits.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions; partner with site leadership on safety.
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and automated equipment.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and ensure work orders are completed on schedule.
• Utilize CMMS systems and dashboards to monitor performance and identify improvements.
• Troubleshoot recurring equipment issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Directly supervise maintenance technicians and other personnel; establish clear expectations.
• Conduct regular meetings and coach for technical development, safety, productivity, and growth.
• Foster a high-performance team and develop succession plans.
