Job summary

Bosch Group is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to keep production equipment running at peak efficiency. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems, perform PMs, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced plant environment.

Ideal candidates have post-secondary education in Industrial Mechanics or Electronics and strong knowledge of HC/SC operations and SAP.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hand tools, machine tools and measuring devices.
  • Blueprint reading and electrical schematics understanding.
  • AC/DC circuits, motor wiring, and PLC wiring knowledge.
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Flexible schedule including potential weekend on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance calls to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently.
  • Perform regular PMs on equipment per maintenance schedules.
  • Improve operations through CI activities and 5S.
  • Coordinate coverage for extended shifts and weekend work.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain SAP work orders and PM records.

Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support all maintenance calls to keep production equipment running at optimum efficiency, with due care given to part quality, throughput, and operator requirements.This includes, but is not limited to, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and tooling repairs. The highest degree of urgency to be given to all safety related calls and conditions.
  • Perform regular PMs on the equipment through the PM schedules.
  • Improve operations through the Maintenance Project List, Continuous Improvement Activities and 5S.
  • Report any conditions of spare part shortage/absence or other required parts to the appropriate maintenance planner.
  • Coordinate coverage for extended shifts and weekend work.
  • Coordinate work (calls, projects, PMs, etc.) within the department with direction from Production Supervisors
  • Troubleshoot electronic problems with actuators and sensors for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions. Alsoincluded are servo hydraulics and servo pneumatics, high resolution positioning, load cells, AC servo drives, electro robotic systems, electronic test equipment.
  • Operate and use equipment such as, multi-meter, oscilloscope, amp gauges, Siemens PG units, and computers.
  • Develop PLC program improvements and changes as required with support from the PLC Tech.
  • Maintain required 5S standards in department.
  • Ensure SAP requirements are kept up to standard (work orders / PM’s).
Education and/or Experience:
  • Knowledge of and experience with proper use of hand tools, machine tools, troubleshooting equipment, measuring tools, and leveling devices. Working knowledge of servo hydraulic mechanical, pneumatic and robotic systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience in blueprint reading, understanding of metrics and electrical schematics, standards in industrial electricity equipment, and electrical safety rules.
  • Understanding of electrical switch devices in relationship to a PLC controller.
  • Must have post level education above high school in Industrial Mechanics or Electronics.
  • Understand AC/DC circuits, motor wiring, electrical and safety codes for machine wiring, disconnects, fusing, wire sizing, PLC control wiring interface with other electrical devices and sensors.
  • Understand board level electronics and how they control, i.e., robotic, speed control, positioning, servo valves and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Must have flexible schedule – may be required to stay over / come in early / be on call for weekend support
  • Understanding and working knowledge of hydraulic pumps, directional control valves, proportional valves, servo valves, oil flow and pressure controls, filtering, electro-pneumatics, and specific equipment safety rules.
