Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in Cabool, MO is seeking a Maintenance Systems Coordinator to support maintenance operations at our retort plant. You will coordinate work orders, manage parts purchasing, schedule maintenance activities, track projects, and collaborate with production teams and contractors.

The role requires 2–5 years in maintenance planning/reliability, with mechanical experience in bottling/packaging equipment and knowledge of boilers, chillers, and HVAC.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
  • 2 to 5 years of maintenance, maintenance planning and scheduling, machine reliability, or related experience.
  • Mechanical experience with high-speed bottling, canning, packaging and EVAP equipment is highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and company computer systems (i.e. SAP CMMS).
  • Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily plant maintenance operations and projects to meet production schedules and maintain plant efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Support onsite maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) inventory management.
  • Coordinate material requests, supplier and plant schedules, and project timelines; negotiate with other department managers.
  • Review and evaluate parts quality, cost, availability for planning.
  • Determine planning status of work orders and manage CMMS data.
  • Determine workforce requirements and work schedules.
  • Communicate with supervisors, distributors, equipment manufacturers, and vendors; guide maintenance personnel in planned/unplanned work.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve problems and implement new procedures or processes.
  • Administer work order systems, backlog, and progress status; improve parts inventory systems.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and electrical work as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Systems Coordinator to join our Cabool, MO retort plant, where we produce dairy-based coffee beverages. In this role, you will support maintenance operations by coordinating work orders, managing parts and supply purchasing, scheduling planned and emergency maintenance activities, tracking projects, and partnering with production teams and external contractors to ensure efficient and reliable plant performance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support daily plant maintenance operations and projects and help ensure production schedules are met and plant efficiencies are maintained.
  • Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the onsite maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) inventory.
  • Coordinate material requests, supplier and plant schedules, and established project timelines; negotiate with and coordinate activities with other department managers.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate the quality, cost, availability, etc., of parts for the planning process.
  • Determine the planning status of work orders; manage planning information in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Determine the level of job planning required for large maintenance jobs.
  • Determine workforce requirements and work schedules.
  • Exchange information with supervisors, distributors, equipment manufacturers, and vendors or contractors. In coordination with management, guide maintenance personnel in planned and unplanned work activities.
  • Partner with other departments regarding the resolution of ongoing problems, the implementation of new procedures or processes, the injection of new products or product lines, and the development of new plans and designs.
  • Administer work order systems including managing backlog, providing appropriate status on items, and strategically working through backlog planning.
  • Work with maintenance management to review, enhance, and implement improvements within the work order/parts inventory systems.
  • Will perform hands-on maintenance and electrical work as needed.
