Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. is located in Klingerstown, Pennsylvania, known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade.

Responsibilities

Days of the week: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 10-hour flexible shifts (agreeable hours)

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for leading, directing, and supervising plant reliability and maintenance personnel. The role involves keeping equipment and facilities in optimal operating condition during shifts, leading a professional maintenance team with strong leadership, setting expectations, and ensuring clear communication. The supervisor provides maintenance and reliability services, champions executional excellence, and asset health improvement, ensuring safety, food safety, and quality policies are followed. The position requires availability to work scheduled times, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise department team members to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met, developing the asset care team to deliver reliability.
  • Supervise maintenance or project contractors, ensuring safety and GMP requirements.
  • Manage maintenance team metrics, balancing tactical and strategic initiatives aligned with plant strategies.
  • Assist in planning and budgeting for capital and operational needs, investigating facilities conditions, and recommending improvements.
  • Utilize MFI-approved CMMS for maintenance management, supporting reporting and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records (SAP, Kronos, KPIs, etc.).
  • Coordinate with planning and scheduling to optimize team productivity.
  • Ensure work quality standards are met, supervise work completion, and perform site inspections.
  • Resolve operational problems to minimize impact on the business.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and reliability-centered maintenance processes.
  • Foster a team environment emphasizing personal and professional development through the MFI ARMED program.
  • Coordinate with corporate stakeholders to align programs with MFI standards.
  • Promote Michael Foods' culture, values, and principles.
  • Demonstrate safe work behaviors, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Adhere to GMPs, maintain sanitation, and ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in talent acquisition activities, including interviewing and recruiting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field preferred; relevant experience or associate's degree with leadership aptitude may suffice.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in industrial operations or maintenance preferred.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.
  • Understanding of PLC and automation preferred.
  • Experience with MFI MTL skills, SAP, and other technical skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and administrative skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
