Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking a Technical Maintenance Supervisor in Columbus, GA.

You will supervise, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while overseeing equipment maintenance and new installations. On-site 10-hour shifts with potential off-shift hours. You will lead PM programs, root-cause analysis, and ensure GMP/BRC compliance, PM documentation, and spare parts readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• 3 years of relevant experience supervising technical personnel.
• Proven ability to teach and lead teams.
• Strong technical and mechanical skills with good troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance to promote safety and GMP compliance.
• Develop PM programs and predict breakdowns.
• Direct and deploy resources to repair equipment.
• Mentor hourly staff and develop their skills.
• Maintain equipment documentation and spare parts.
• Collaborate with operations to improve uptime.
• Manage timekeeping, attendance, and payroll approvals.
• Ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance.
