Job summary

Job description

Entry-level supervisor role responsible for supporting maintenance manpower, planning and execution. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance planning, execution, and contractor coordination within the facility. This role ensures optimal equipment reliability, efficient resource utilization, and compliance with safety and operational standards. Collaborates with fellow supervisors to optimize scheduling, streamline material procurement, and uphold safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in planning and scheduling work for maintenance and contract work.
  • Supports the scheduling of work orders in PASTA and manages manpower allocation to meet operational priorities.
  • Assist Team Leaders and Supervisors to develop and refine standard work procedures for maintenance tasks.
  • Supports procurement processes by coordinating material requests and verifying timely onsite delivery.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate records of critical spares to prevent stockouts and support reliability.
  • Liaises with vendors and contractors to obtain cost estimates and projected schedules for upcoming work.
  • Assists with ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist with ensuring contractors comply with site safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Assist with monitoring daily maintenance activities and provide technical guidance.
  • Lead and manage maintenance teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution of work.
  • Assists in developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support plant operations and maintenance excellence.
Qualifications
Education:

Associate degree in a technical-related field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and contractor management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial safety standards, and best practices in maintenance operations.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Relevant on-the-job experience or additional education may be considered in lieu of the stated requirements, based on demonstrated competency and performance.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; sit; work with hands and fingers; push, pull, reach, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; communicate with others to exchange information; and hear.The employee must have close visual acuity to analyze data, perform inspections, and view computer monitors; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

This position could require working in extreme heat and cold both in inside and outside environments; environments containing fumes, odors, dust, gases, and high amounts of noise and vibration. Additionally, this position requires the ability to work in close quarters, narrow passageways, at heights, on grating, platforms and catwalks. Work outside normal business hours may be required.
