TheMaintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenanceactivities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation ofmanufacturing equipment, facilities, and utilities. This position supervisesmaintenance technicians, contractors and vendors, manages preventive andpredictive maintenance programs, minimizes equipment downtime, and supportscontinuous improvement initiatives to meet production and operational goals. Thisposition reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise,train, coach, and evaluate maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Scheduleand assign maintenance work based on production requirements and businesspriorities.
- Ensureadequate staffing and coverage for all shifts as required.
- Promoteemployee development through skills training and performance management.
- Fostera culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Operations
- Directdaily maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, repairs,installations, and upgrades.
- Ensuretimely response to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
- Coordinatepreventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Monitorequipment performance and reliability metrics to reduce downtime.
- Maintainaccurate maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS system.
Equipment Reliability
- Analyzerecurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Supportroot cause analysis investigations and reliability improvement projects.
- Collaboratewith engineering and production teams on equipment modifications andcapital projects.
- Driveimprovements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and assetutilization.
Contractor & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external contractors,service providers, and equipment vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectivemaintenance support.
- Coordinate and oversee contractor activities toensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, permits, andsite-specific requirements.
- Review contractor work scopes, specifications,and service agreements to ensure alignment with operational needs andmaintenance standards.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes, bids, and proposalsfor maintenance services, repairs, and capital projects.
- Monitor contractor and vendor performance,including quality of work, responsiveness, safety performance, and adherence toschedules.
- Approve completed work, verify service quality,and ensure proper documentation before processing invoices.
- Partner with vendors to troubleshoot equipmentissues, identify reliability improvements, and implement equipment upgrades.
- Participate in contractor safety orientations,audits, and performance reviews to maintain compliance and reduce operationalrisk.
- Collaborate with procurement and finance teamsto control maintenance expenditures and support budget objectives.
MRO Inventory and Materials Management
- Manage the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO)inventory program to ensure availability of critical spare parts, tools,and maintenance supplies.
- Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levelsto support equipment reliability while minimizing excess stock andcarrying costs.
- Oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and issuance ofmaintenance materials and replacement parts.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHAregulations.
- Ensure proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confinedspace, electrical safety, and safe work practices.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incidentinvestigations.
- Maintain compliance with environmental,regulatory, and company requirements.
Planning & Budget Management
- Assistin developing and managing departmental budgets.
- Controlmaintenance labor, overtime, parts inventory, and contractor expenses.
- Coordinateprocurement of replacement parts, equipment, and services.
- Monitorinventory levels to ensure critical spare parts availability.
Continuous Improvement
- Participatein Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and other continuous improvementinitiatives.
- Identifyopportunities to improve maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Supportimplementation of new technologies and maintenance best practices.
Documentation & Technical Responsibilities
- Developand maintain maintenance procedures and specifications.
- Createand update documentation to support operational efficiency.
- Readand interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Travel Requirements
- Travel is required for up to 25% and may includevisits to other company facilities, projects, training events andcross-functional collaborations.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance,Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field;equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of industrial or manufacturingmaintenance experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadershipexperience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical,hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
- Experience with CMMS software and maintenanceplanning systems.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards andindustrial safety practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solvingskills.

Physical Demands
- Perform movements such as climbing, balancing,stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50pounds.
- Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and theability to adjust focus.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods whilesupporting manufacturing operations.
Work Environment
- The position is primarily office-based withregular involvement in the manufacturing plant. Required personal protectiveequipment (PPE) and all plant safety procedures must be followed while inproduction areas.
