Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and perform hands-on maintenance across our facilities in Iowa. You’ll oversee preventive programs, monitor systems like HVAC, and coordinate with housekeeping for heavy cleaning while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. This role is based on-site at multiple nursing communities.

You will manage tools and inventory, maintain safe outdoor areas, and support inspections and training to uphold high resident service standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience required.
• Interest in creating a home-like atmosphere for residents.
• Ability to implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Familiarity with basic repair tools and equipment.
• Strong customer service for residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as needed according to policies and safety regulations.
• Monitor equipment and systems; perform preventive and corrective maintenance promptly.
• Assist in monitoring general systems like heating/cooling; report issues.
• Assist housekeeping with heavy floor care and cleaning tasks as needed.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are available; maintain inventory records.
• Keep outdoor walkways safe; perform snow/ice removal as required.
• Maintain lawns and landscaping.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with procedures, codes, and laws.
• Follow MSDS and waste disposal procedures.
• Assist in inspections, drills, and training per procedures.
