Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Supervisor to join our UniFirst team. You will ensure all facility equipment is functioning efficiently and identify areas to improve processes, procedures, and maintenance practices, while providing ongoing training for maintenance staff.

We offer a standard Monday–Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime, plus on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems is required.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment including wiring, electrical, mechanical, electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action using blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding activities to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and related control systems.
• Perform and schedule all preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow manuals and specifications with a documented schedule.
• Oversee maintenance across shifts and ensure safety & regulatory compliance.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Train and develop maintenance staff and manage budget with Production Manager.
