Job summary

Greif in Decatur, GA is seeking a Maintenance technician to ensure reliable operation of machinery and systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, read manuals and work orders, and install or repair components.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical training with 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) or technical training.
• 2–3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Reads equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Uses hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
• Assembles, installs, adjusts, and calibrates mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles, repairs, rebuilds, and replaces equipment and parts as needed.
• Adheres to plant safety policies and participates in safety and Lean Manufacturing programs.
• Provides assistance and guidance to junior maintenance colleagues.
