Job summary

The Homestead at Montrose, part of Volunteers of America National Services, seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to manage facilities operations in Montrose, CO. This role supports a compassionate, purpose-driven environment with responsibilities for preventative maintenance and safety.

You'll lead maintenance staff, coordinate repairs, and ensure compliance with building and safety codes. The position offers regular hours, on‑call rotation, and opportunities for growth within a trusted nonprofit

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade or vocational training with courses in blueprint reading, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and electricity preferred.
• Minimum of three years full‑time maintenance or construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state building, plumbing and electrical codes and ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance of the facility to ensure safety, cleanliness and accessibility for residents and staff.
• Performs preventative maintenance, painting and repairs inside and outside the building.
• Develops and reviews maintenance policies and procedures annually.
• Hires, trains, counsels and/or terminates maintenance staff as needed.
• Assigns, schedules, supervises and evaluates maintenance personnel.
• Repairs exterior surfaces and handles emergencies as needed.
• Schedules and expedites work orders to ensure timely completion.
