Job summary

Mark-Taylor is seeking a Manager of Facilities and Service (Maintenance Supervisor) for our Arts District community in Phoenix, AZ. You will lead the service team, oversee daily maintenance, inspections and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and more.

Effective leadership, strong maintenance expertise, and a focus on resident service are essential. On-call rotation and certification pay are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscape maintenance, appliances and OSHA-related standards.
• One or more industry certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, OSHA or similar).
• Service orientation and basic computer skills.
• 3+ years as a Maintenance Technician or similar role; 1+ year as Manager/Supervisor or Building Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians and Housekeepers.
• Oversee hands-on maintenance to preserve community value.
• Perform inspections and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry and exteriors.
• Manage Make-Ready and Turn Board inventories for leasing.
• Schedule contractors and vendors as needed.
• Inspect for safety hazards and address them.
• Share on-call duties and respond after hours in uniform.
• Maintain records: PMs, work orders, inspections and logs.
• Mentor technicians and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $33.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications.***

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, OSHA or similar).
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Three or more years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician, Apartment Turn Technician, Service Technician, Make-Ready Technician, or Work Order Technician.
• 1 year working as a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, Building Engineer or similar.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Serve as the leader for the team of Service Technicians, Facilities Technicians, and Housekeepers.
• Oversee and execute the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community.
• Perform consistent inspections, diagnosing problems, and making necessary repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, dry walling, appliances, and exterior structures.
• Manage the daily inventory of apartment homes in order to support leasing efforts, including managing the Make-Ready, Turn Board.
• Schedule contractors and vendors as needed.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazards.
• Share rotating on-call duty with service team members and readily available to go the property after hours if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Complete Weekly Service Report in a timely manner.
• Adhere to Mark-Taylor safety protocols, programs, policies and procedures.
• Participate in training classes.
• Train and mentor Service Technician and Facilities Technicians.
• Keep accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, work orders, inspections, inventories, pool chemical logs, make-ready and turn units.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive rapport with all residents and team members.
• Capital project oversight, bidding, and execution.
