Job summary

Dana is a global leader in engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies serving passenger and commercial markets. This maintenance technician role supports field and plant operations, troubleshooting PLCs, electrical systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic components to keep production lines running efficiently.

Responsibilities include interpreting schematics, wiring diagnostics, installing conduit, and operating forklifts while maintaining CMMS records.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 5 years of verifiable related experience in mechanical/electrical/electronics
  • Experience with CMMS preferred
  • Proficient in PLC troubleshooting, wiring, and control panels
  • Willingness to travel for training and overtime when required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an efficient work schedule across all shifts
  • Troubleshoot, program, and document PLC control systems
  • Interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits
  • Repair and install pneumatic/hydraulic components and systems
  • Inspect and repair wiring, conduit, and switchgear
  • Operate forklifts up to 30 tons and assist with rigging equipment
  • Learn and maintain CMMS for maintenance records
  • Capable of field repairs and modifying installation as needed

Job description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal‑management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative‑energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck – Dana provides the world's original‑equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a work schedule that includes time for personal contact and communication with all shifts.
  • Proficient in the use of PLC (programmable logic controllers). This includes troubleshooting, programming, and documentation of PLC control programs. Proficiency required with Modican, Allen‑Bradley, or Siemens PLCs.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits.
  • Capable of troubleshooting hard‑wired relay logic machine control panels. This includes field repairs, i.e., replacing existing components and wiring.
  • Working knowledge and experience with 24, 115, 277, and 480 Bolt 3‑phase electrical systems. This would include electrical distribution systems consisting of bus and switchgear equipment.
  • Ability to install additional conduit, both flex and hard, to existing equipment and building systems. This would include correct bending of hard conduit and pulling wire through the conduit.
  • Ability to remove, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic components to include valves, cylinders, pumps, hoists, and motors.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of wire and stick welders, as well as cutting torches.
  • Operate forklifts — up to 30‑ton capacity.
  • Experience rigging, moving, and installing equipment within the facility. This would include the capability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be willing to learn to use and maintain a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ability to determine proper pipe sizes, thread pipe and properly install.
  • Ability to bend and install hydraulic tubing properly.
  • Experience troubleshooting machine malfunctions to include electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Education and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology plus 2 years of verifiable work.
  • In lieu of formal education—a minimum of 5 years of verifiable work plus training seminars in the above‑defined categories will be considered.
  • Prior experience with a CMMS would be preferred.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required on short notice during the week and weekends as scheduled.
  • Must be able to travel for training. This would include overnight stays, possibly up to a week at a time.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office. This includes MS‑Excel and MS‑Word. Experience in MS‑Access, MS‑Project and MS‑PowerPoint would be beneficial.
