Job summary

Vaco is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor in Santa Fe Springs, CA to lead day-to-day maintenance for a fashion/apparel fulfillment and distribution center. You will supervise maintenance technicians, troubleshoot conveyors and related equipment, and ensure safe, reliable operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong mechanical/electrical skills, PLC/VFD/HMI experience, and hands-on leadership with a focus on preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in industrial maintenance or distribution center environments.
• Previous Maintenance Supervisor or leadership experience required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with conveyor, sortation, or automated material-handling equipment.
• Knowledge of PLC, VFD, HMIs, motors, gearboxes, and industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and provide technical direction to maintenance technicians.
• Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities and work orders.
• Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, sorters, motors, gearboxes, packing equipment, and material-handling systems.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including 480V three-phase, 120V, and 24V DC.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs to diagnose equipment issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Utilize CMMS systems to track maintenance activities and work orders.
• Ensure proper LO TO, Arc Flash, and workplace safety procedures.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and support equipment reliability.

Salary: $85,000-$90,000 annually + 5% bonus

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance operations within a fast-paced fashion/apparel fulfillment and distribution center. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising maintenance technicians while troubleshooting equipment issues and keeping critical warehouse and material-handling systems operational.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with conveyors, sortation/material-handling equipment, electrical troubleshooting, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial maintenance, along with established supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and provide technical direction to maintenance technicians

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of industrial, distribution center, fulfillment center, or equipment maintenance experience


• Previous Maintenance Supervisor or comparable leadership experience required


• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills


• Experience with conveyor, sortation, or automated material-handling equipment


• Knowledge of PLC, VFD, HMI, motors, gearboxes, and industrial electrical systems


• Preventive maintenance and CMMS experience


• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills


• Comfortable being a hands-on supervisor who can troubleshoot alongside the team


• Fabrication and welding experience is a plus


• Experience within fashion, apparel, e-commerce, fulfillment, or high-volume distribution environments is highly preferred
