Job summary

A manufacturing company located in Chicago is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead and enhance maintenance operations across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience, including supervisory roles. Responsibilities include direct supervision of a team, managing preventive maintenance programs, and overseeing equipment reliability. Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience with strong planning and scheduling skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and applicable regulations.
  • Experience with PM programs, electrical troubleshooting up to 480V, basic PLC knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and assign work to maintenance technicians with 4-5 direct reports.
  • Lead maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
  • Manage CMMS including PMs, inventory, and work orders.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs.
  • Manage CMMS (MaintainX) including PMs, inventory, and work orders.
  • Establish and enforce LOTO procedures.
  • Support CapEx planning and equipment evaluations.
  • Oversee facility systems including alarms.

Role Overview
  • 60–75% hands-on maintenance; 25–40% supervision, planning, and coordination
  • 70% mechanical / 30% electrical focus
  • Lead maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime
  • Support CapEx planning, vendor management, and facility systems
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and assign work to maintenance technicians (4–5 direct reports)

  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs as needed
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs
  • Manage CMMS (MaintainX) including PMs, inventory, and work orders
  • Establish and enforce LOTO procedures
  • Manage vendors and outsourced services
  • Support CapEx planning and equipment evaluations
  • Oversee facility systems including fire and burglar alarms
Required Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience (industrial environment)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience with strong planning and scheduling skills
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting expertise
  • Electrical troubleshooting up to 480V; basic PLC knowledge
  • Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, and motors
  • CMMS experience (MaintainX preferred)
  • Facilities maintenance experience
  • Capital expense planning experience
  • Strong project management, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA and applicable regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated job stability and longevity
Nice to Have
  • Experience with cutting equipment, welders, robots, coating/painting, or packaging machinery
