Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management seeks an experienced Building Maintenance Manager to oversee on-site maintenance for a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Florida, NY. You will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate external contractors, and ensure safety, repairs, and preventative maintenance are performed to high standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of properties and facilities maintenance experience
• Healthcare facility maintenance experience a plus
• Experience supervising maintenance staff is a plus
• Knowledge of building and safety codes a must

Responsibilities

• Manage the center's on-site maintenance program, including equipment and maintenance staff
• Ensure employee performance meets expectations and conduct timely appraisals
• Diagnose technical and mechanical problems and facilitate repairs
• Maintenance and beautification of facility and grounds
• Oversees safety program and preventative maintenance
• In absence of a security officer, may be responsible for protection of assets, personnel and residents
• Coordinate and oversee activities of outside contractors and tradespeople
• Apply building and safety codes to meet quality standards
• Address residents' and staff concerns related to facilities and conditions

Requirements

• Manage the center's on-site maintenance program, including essential mechanical, electrical, and resident care equipment, as well as maintenance staff.
• Ensure employee performance meets or exceeds expectations and periodic performance appraisals are conducted on a timely basis.
• Diagnoses technical and mechanical problems and facilitate repairs.
• Maintenance and beautification of facility and grounds.
• Oversees safety program and preventative maintenance.
• In absence of a security officer, may be responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, residents and all visitors
• Coordinates and oversees activities of outside contractors, trades people in construction, repair and maintenance of physical plant and equipment.
• Apply building and safety codes to facility situations and maintenance procedures to meet acceptable standards of quality.
• Makes prompt efforts to resolve all residents and staff concerns or grievances related to facilities and conditions under the incumbent's direction

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years of properties and facilities maintenance experience required
• Prior maintenance experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of skilled nursing facilities a plus.
• Prior experience supervising and managing maintenance staff a plus.
