Job summary

Mobis is seeking a maintenance supervisor to run day-to-day plant maintenance, assign work orders, and ensure adherence to procedures. The role focuses on reducing unplanned downtime and improving equipment reliability.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance staff, coordinating with contractors, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safety and environmental standards at the Toledo plant.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician, Mechanic, Hydraulics and Pneumatics technician.
• Must know SPC tools and machinist knowledge; strong engineering background.
• Knowledge of PLC logic and systems; good problem solving and leadership skills.
• Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Oversee work by outside contractors as necessary.
• Keep records and chart trends.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in managing building expansion projects.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance checks and keep records.
• Troubleshoot problems with machinery and equipment.
• Train, direct, develop, supervise, and evaluate staff.
• Member of Emergency Action team and Safety Committee.
• Maintain exterior of building and yards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Review shop supplies and MRO requisitions for cost and use.
• Perform special assignments as delegated.

Purpose

Responsibility of running day-to-day maintenance for the plant. This includes assigning work orders to maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with documented procedures, driving continuous improvement and professional development of the maintenance staff. Responsible for staffing changes required to provide production coverage and reduce unplanned failures on production and facility equipment.

Essential Duties

• Responsible for installation and maintenance of machinery, equipment, etc.
• Oversees work performed by outside contractors as necessary.
• Keeps related records and charts trends.
• Ensures departmental compliance with company policies, including safety regulations.
• Assists in managing building expansion projects.
• Schedules and performs preventative maintenance checks and keeps related records.
• Aids in troubleshooting problems with machinery and equipment.
• Trains, directs, develops, supervises, evaluates subordinates.
• Member of the Uni Boring Emergency Action team and Safety Committee.
• Ensures the upkeep of exterior of building and/or yards.
• Ensures compliance of Environmental standards
• Reviews all shop supplies and MRO purchase requisitions for cost and usage.
• Performs special assignments as delegated.

Requirements

Education / Skill / Experience Requirements

Qualified Electrician, Mechanic, Hydraulics and Pneumatics technician. Must know S.P.C. Toolmaker, Machinist, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering knowledge. Must be knowledgeable in PLC logic and systems. Must have good problem solving, analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills. Supervisory experience required.
