Position Overview :

Banyan Living is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in Stow, Ohio. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and service delivery. This is a posting for future positions.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring completion of tasks and availability of ready apartment product to aid in leasing, coordinating work projects, assisting in the monitoring of work by outside vendors and receiving direction from and working with the Property Manager to manage the maintenance team at the assigned community. They maintain an efficient operation of the facility and upkeep of the property buildings and grounds in a supportive role, taking directions from the Property Manager, Regional Property Manager, corporate executives and property ownership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Receives, delegates, and completes written, electronic, and / or verbal instructions and work orders from supervisor(s) and resident(s).
  • Directs, develops, and executes vacant suite make ready initiatives including but not limited to scheduling vendors, moving and or installing appliances, painting suites, general cleaning and light electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Assists with grounds maintenance including trimming and pulling weeds on the community property.
  • Completes daily walks of the property to pick up litter, ensure trash receptacles are free of debris, and ensures overall ground cleanliness.
  • Paints interior and exterior walls and trim.
  • Uses and Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
  • Repairs or replaces building brick, stone, and concrete.
  • Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings.
  • Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper, and riding mower.
  • Assists other team members with moving appliances and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Assists in on-call activities and is part of on-call rotation.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have competent skills using a variety of tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain high levels of productivity without direct supervision.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Able to work in a team environment and take direction.
  • Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
  • Able to maintain balance, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and wipe.
