Software Placement Group, SPG in South Windsor, CT is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead all facility and equipment maintenance activities. This role will manage the maintenance team and ensure production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently, playing a key part in supporting overall plant performance.

You will plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, manage CMMS, and coordinate with contractors while driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams or supervision.
  • Strong preventive and predictive maintenance knowledge.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment.
  • Experience using a CMMS or similar maintenance-management platform.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and support personnel.
  • Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Maintain production machinery, facility systems, utilities, and supporting equipment.
  • Reduce equipment downtime through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Develop maintenance schedules that support production requirements.
  • Manage the CMMS, work orders, maintenance records, and spare-parts inventory.
  • Establish and track maintenance performance indicators, including downtime and reliability.
  • Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Manage relationships with outside contractors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and environmental standards.
  • Support continuous-improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department's operating and capital budgets.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality and operations leadership.
  • Provide hands-on technical support when complex equipment issues arise.

Overview

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead all facility and equipment maintenance activities. This role will manage the maintenance team and ensure production equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently, playing a key part in supporting overall plant performance.

What you'll do
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and support personnel
  • Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Maintain production machinery, facility systems, utilities, and supporting equipment
  • Reduce equipment downtime through root-cause analysis and corrective action
  • Develop maintenance schedules that support production requirements
  • Manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), work orders, maintenance records, and spare-parts inventory
  • Establish and track maintenance performance indicators, including downtime, response time, preventive maintenance completion, and equipment reliability
  • Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, repairs, and capital improvement projects
  • Manage relationships with outside contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, environmental standards, and applicable regulations
  • Support continuous-improvement, lean-manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department's operating and capital budgets
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and operations leadership
  • Provide hands-on technical support when complex equipment issues arise
Required qualifications
  • Five or more years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment
  • Experience using a CMMS or similar maintenance-management platform
  • Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial safety practices
Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, facilities management, or a related field preferred
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery, industrial controls, HVAC, compressors, boilers, and facility systems is preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experienceCertified Maintenance and Reliability Professional or similar certification
  • Experience managing capital projects and equipment installations
