Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for an industrial manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, IN. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems, driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime.

You will coordinate daily activities, analyze downtime metrics, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while collaborating with production leadership on priorities and budgets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and production machinery.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automated manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate a maintenance team.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with production leadership, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills to plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance activities.
• Hands-on experience in maintenance management and maintenance supervision.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

• Support equipment installations, capital improvement projects, and equipment startup activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records using CMMS and other documentation systems.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, performance management, and ongoing skills development.
• Participate in budget planning and manage maintenance-related expenditures responsibly.
• Promote and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance activities.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility that is hot and dirty throughout most of the plant, requiring comfort working in a demanding, hands‑on environment. The position follows a night shift schedule from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. on a rotating pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, followed by 3 days on, 3 days off. Overtime is currently unlimited and voluntary, providing flexibility for those who want additional hours. You will work around automated manufacturing systems, industrial machinery, and a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to site procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shelbyville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
