Job summary

Surlean Foods is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance of plant property and machinery in a fast-paced environment in Texas. You will coach and develop the maintenance team, set and execute schedules, and drive plant improvements to enhance efficiency and capability.

You will coordinate with management to establish production standards, control budgets, and align data on parts, quantities, and delivery dates, while ensuring GMP/SOP compliance and safety across all maintenance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; 3–5 years related experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance schedules and plant improvements.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and coordinates maintenance of company property and machinery.

  • Conducts capacity analyses to determine tool/capital needs and reports findings to upper management.
  • Maintains PM schedule for all plant machinery and verifies PMs are done properly.
  • Takes disciplinary actions for non-compliance with procedures.
  • Maintains maintenance communication flow across departments to ensure products meet specs.
  • Oversees setup and breakdown of production lines for safe, proper, efficient operations.
  • Consults with production on machine modifications to improve production and quality.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Job description

Directs and coordinates activities concerned with maintenance of company property and machinery by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate lead person. Coach and develop team to enhance efficiency and capability. Manage and execute maintenance schedules, coordinate activities for plant improvement projects.

  • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specification, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Ensures all maintenance employees are following customer specifications, GMP's, SOP's, and safety procedures at all times.
  • Conducts capacity analyses by specific machine to determine the need for additional tools/ capital equipment. Ensures capacity plan is followed. Troubleshoots potential capacity issues on an ongoing basis. Report all finding to upper management.
  • Responsible for maintaining the PM schedule for all plant machinery and verifying PM's are done properly.
  • Responsible for taking disciplinary action on employee who fail to follow proper procedures.
  • Responsible for Maintenance related communication flow in the plant and coordination between all departments to ensure products are produced to spec in an efficient manner.
  • Oversees the set-up and breakdown of production lines to ensure tasks are performed safely, properly, and efficiently.
  • Consults with production personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • All other tasked assigned by management.
Working Conditions:

Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.

Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in processing departments.

Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick.

Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 lbs., and to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and subordinate instructions.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and employees.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
