Job summary

NYX Inc. in Plymouth, MN seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of production equipment and facilities in accordance with plant procedures. You will lead a team, implement preventive maintenance, and support safety and 5S efforts.

The role requires a four-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in supervision. Strong focus on safety and continuous improvement is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a four year Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent maintenance experience.
• At least 5 years of maintenance experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with TS16949 procedures and safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Institute and manage a preventive maintenance plan to reduce machine breakdowns.
• Schedule weekly, monthly and semi-annual preventive maintenance for production equipment.
• Procure materials and equipment for regular maintenance of production equipment and facility.
• Oversee, direct, and assist Maintenance Technicians in regular and preventive maintenance.
• Institute a preventive maintenance program for molds.
• Gather OEE data, evaluate and propose improvements.
• Engage in Continuous Improvement Programs and 5S activities.
• Train and develop employees in maintenance practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Oversee facilities maintenance.
• Maintain basic knowledge of TS16949 and the Quality Policy.
• Follow safety rules and report any safety issues or injuries.
• Ensure plant safety and 5S housekeeping standards are maintained.

Description

Oversees the maintenance of all production equipment and facilities as per plant’s
T.S. 16949 procedures and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Institute and manage a preventive maintenance plan that will decrease the incidence of machines breakdowns.
• 2. Schedule weekly, monthly, semi-annual preventive maintenance for production equipment.
• 3. Obtain the necessary materials and equipment required for regular and preventative maintenance of the production equipment and facility.
• 4. Oversee, direct, and assist Maintenance Technicians in completing regular and preventive maintenance.
• 5. Institute a preventive maintenance program for the maintaining and upkeep of molds.
• 6. Gather Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data, evaluate and recommend improvements.
• 7. Active involvement with Continuous Improvement Programs and 5S.
• 8. Responsible for training and development of employees.
• 9. Additional duties assigned by management.
• 10. Facilities Maintenance.
• 11. Must have basic knowledge of TS16949 and know the Quality Policy.
• 12. Follow the safety rules, report safety problems and all injuries, regardless of severity.
• 13. Ensure plant safety and 5S housekeeping standards are maintained.

Physical Demands

• Standing – frequently required on concrete floor when repairing equipment
• Walking – sometimes required during repairing or performing maintenance
• Lifting – frequent lifting from floor to waist level
• Pushing/pulling – occasionally required in-front of body during repairing of machines
• Reaching – frequently extending arms and hands in front of body and below the waist when repairing machines
• Bending/stooping – occasionally required
• Turning/twisting – required all the time to perform job functions
