Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with leadership responsibilities.

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the day-to-day execution of maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility assets in a highly automated food manufacturing environment. This role provides direct supervision of maintenance technicians, coordinates planned and emergency maintenance work, and partners closely with Operations to maximize equipment uptime while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the frontline leader of the maintenance team, ensuring work is planned, prioritized, and executed effectively while developing technician capability and promoting a proactive maintenance culture across one or multiple shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily maintenance activities for production equipment, utilities, and facility systems to support reliable plant operations.
  • Assign, prioritize, and coordinate preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance work orders are completed accurately, thoroughly, and on schedule within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Coordinate maintenance coverage and resources to align with production requirements while reducing unplanned interruptions.
  • Monitor the quality of maintenance work and verify that repairs are completed safely, effectively, and in compliance with plant standards.
  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and direction to maintenance technicians to ensure clear expectations and consistent performance.
  • Conduct regular shift meetings to communicate priorities, review safety topics, and ensure alignment with production schedules and maintenance plans.
  • Train and develop maintenance personnel in technical skills, troubleshooting methods, safety practices, and maintenance best practices.
  • Lead and participate in troubleshooting efforts for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct performance discussions with maintenance team members and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support growth and accountability.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
  • Support and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety policies to maintain a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment.
  • Collaborate with Operations and other departments to identify recurring issues, recommend solutions, and improve equipment reliability.
  • Support implementation and optimization of preventive maintenance programs through effective use of the CMMS.
  • Ensure adherence to plant procedures related to equipment, safety, and quality while driving high levels of productivity.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience supervising or leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance repair, electrical maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Demonstrated maintenance supervision and maintenance management skills.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and coaching abilities with a focus on team development.
  • Solid planning, prioritization, and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and work orders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a GMP-regulated food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience working in a highly automated manufacturing facility.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with Operations and cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to conduct effective shift meetings and communicate priorities clearly.
  • Experience training and developing maintenance personnel in technical and safety practices.
  • Comfort working across multiple shifts as needed to support production and maintenance activities.

Work Environment

This role is based in a modern food manufacturing facility operating under strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The plant features new facilities with new machines and equipment and is highly automated, providing exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies. The environment is climate controlled, with both air conditioning and heat, to support food and ingredient handling. The position follows a Monday through Friday first‑shift schedule, with work hours typically from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including a 30‑minute unpaid lunch, and some Saturday work as needed. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times on the plant floor, including a smock, hair net, beard net as applicable, ear plugs, eye protection, and safety shoes. For safety and product integrity, jewelry, piercings, long nails, and similar items are not permitted on the plant floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.

Direct Hire Benefits:- $75 Steel Toe/Composite Stipend- Medical, Dental, Vision- Benes start 1st of month.- PTO days accrued.- Sick days accrued.- 401K after 90 days.
