Ascent Hospitality, owner and operator of a premier Marriott hotel in Mobile, AL, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Engineering Team. You will ensure guest rooms, public areas, and facilities are safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready, while mentoring technicians and coordinating preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on leadership, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and service excellence in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise maintenance team members with daily tasks and projects.
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.

Ascent Hospitality is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the Engineering Team at our full-service Marriott hotel in Mobile, AL.

This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer and plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Engineering Department. The Maintenance Supervisor will help ensure the hotel, guest rooms, public areas, meeting and banquet spaces, restaurants, equipment, and building systems are maintained to the highest standards.

At our Full-Service Marriott Hotel in Mobile, our Engineering Team is essential to creating an exceptional guest experience. From ensuring guest rooms are comfortable and fully operational to supporting restaurants, meeting spaces, and hotel facilities, every maintenance detail matters.

We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who understands that behind every great guest experience is a well-maintained hotel.

What You Will Do:

• Support the Chief Engineer with the daily operations of the Engineering Department.
• Supervise and assist maintenance team members with daily assignments, repairs, and projects.
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, meeting/banquet spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other departments to address maintenance concerns and minimize guest impact.
• Support the maintenance needs of hotel restaurants, kitchens, banquet areas, meeting spaces, and other F&B facilities.
• Assist with scheduling, work orders, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Monitor hotel equipment and building systems and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Help train and mentor maintenance team members on proper procedures, safety, preventive maintenance, and hotel standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional service.
• Help ensure compliance with safety standards, Marriott brand requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning property that meets guest and brand expectations.
• Support the Chief Engineer and General Manager with special projects, property improvements, inspections, and other engineering needs as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous hotel maintenance/engineering experience, preferably in a full-service hotel and/or supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Experience supporting maintenance needs within F&B, banquet, meeting, and public areas is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work hands-on and respond effectively to maintenance emergencies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate maintenance team members.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments.
• Knowledge of hotel safety standards, preventive maintenance practices, and brand requirements.
• Previous Marriott experience is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
