Job summary

Martinrea is seeking a Maintenance Leader to provide direction to the Maintenance department and its staff. This role requires experience in maintenance supervision, welding facility exposure, and strong communication skills to drive performance on the plant floor.

The ideal candidate will manage PM programs, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safe, efficient operations while supporting cost-effective improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• College courses in maintenance related discipline; relevant certificates preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years in a maintenance role in industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience welding facility.
• Strong English communication, both written and oral.
• High level of time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead a team.
• Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• Strong technical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, develop and conduct evaluations of the Maintenance department.
• Supervise maintenance related functions: PM program/schedule, ensure equipment uptime and coordinate production needs.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for repairs and source cost-effective upgrades.
• Ensure availability of replacement parts and maintain maintenance records.
• Plan and control for labor, overtime, equipment and travel within Maintenance.
• Stand in for Maintenance Manager when absent and mentor subordinates.
• Create a safe, secure work environment and improve throughput and efficiency.

Job Summary:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in Maintenance position in industry;
• Must have experience in welding facility

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, develop and conduct evaluations of the Maintenance department
• Supervise maintenance related functions:
  • PM program/ schedule that ensures machine robustness along with the coordination of production schedule needs
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtime
  • Analyze machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problems
  • Ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime
  • Maintain maintenance related records
  • To co-ordinate with outside contractors on equipment repairs and to source the most effective repairs and upgrades cost
  • Provide input and ensure completion of CI projects
  • Able to stand in for Maintenance Manager in absence
  • Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Maintenance department (e.g. labor, overtime, equipment, travel, etc).
  • Maintains clear written records
  • Creates and ensures a safe and secure work environment
  • Achieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the Maintenance Manager
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory and operational expense.

  • Oversee the following positions on a functional level (follow up and determine compliance):
    • Maintenance Associates
