Job summary

HTC Global Services is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Kokomo, IN to lead Skilled Trades within a fast-paced, unionized manufacturing setting. You will drive safety, quality, throughput, and cost initiatives while mentoring hourly and supervisory staff in problem-solving and corrective action.

Strong TPM/CBM/DM knowledge is valued. The role requires 3+ years in industrial automation with project management, excellent communication, and the ability to work various shifts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management.
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to coach and develop Skilled Trades employees.
Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and direct Skilled Trades employees within the maintenance department.
Coordinate safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale initiatives.
Drive throughput improvements and oversee maintenance activities.
Provide coaching and mentoring on problem-solving and corrective action.
Apply understanding of TBM, CBM, and DM maintenance strategies.
Influence KPIs like MTBF and MTTR.
Address throughput and downtime issues in production.
Work with PMS to support maintenance improvements.
Directly supervise Skilled Trades employees.
Drive waste reduction through maintenance practices.
Lead Kaizen and OEE improvement initiatives.

Maintenance Supervisor

Overview / Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor leads and directs skilled trades employees to meet maintenance department objectives in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. This role coordinates safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale initiatives; drives throughput improvements; and coordinates professional and breakdown maintenance activities. The Maintenance Supervisor also provides coaching and mentoring to hourly and supervisory team members on problem-solving techniques and corrective action implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and direct Skilled Trades employees within the maintenance department.
Coordinate safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale initiatives.
Drive throughput improvements and coordinate professional maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities.
Provide coaching and mentoring to hourly and supervisory team members regarding problem-solving techniques and corrective action implementation.
Apply general technical understanding of maintenance, Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Dynamic Maintenance (DM).
Influence key performance indicators (KPIs), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Maintain equipment at basic conditions and support continuous improvement of equipment within the assigned area.
Address throughput, run-to-run, and downtime-related equipment issues in a production environment, supported by the Professional Maintenance Specialist (PMS) where applicable.
Directly supervise Skilled Trades employees.
Work with Skilled Trades staff to drive waste reduction through implementation of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Professional Maintenance (PM), Quality Maintenance (QM), Focus Improvement (FI), and People Development (PD).
Actively participate in and lead Kaizen project activities focused on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience.
Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees, from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership.
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
Goal-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead teams.
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop Skilled Trades employees.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field.
Experience with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing.
Experience leading maintenance teams in a union environment.
Experience with controls, robotics, drives, and system-level communication systems.
Experience with various conveyance systems, welding, vision systems, and sensor use and application.
