Job summary

Domtar Corporation in Hawesville, KY is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a crew of journey-level mechanical and electrical-instrumentation staff, ensuring reliability and maintainability of equipment. The role emphasizes safety culture and proactive safety leadership in a 24/7 operation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will oversee work planning, review work requests, and ensure on-time completion of tasks while fostering collaboration across operations and maintenance

Qualifications

• Technical/trade school diploma with emphasis in mechanical technology and a minimum of two (2) years of maintenance supervision experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and one (1) year of maintenance supervision experience
• Personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence
• Safety & team oriented with a good work ethic, positive attitude & the ability to lead a crew of Mechanics
• Familiar with reliability-centered maintenance practices & predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis, ultrasonic analysis
• Strong equipment & system troubleshooting aptitude
• Good written & oral communication skills to communicate technical activities across all levels of the organization
• Willingness to support 24/7 operation

• Identify and implement improvements in process and equipment reliability in their area
• Provide technical assistance and reliability leadership to operations & maintenance personnel

The location in Hawesville, (Kentucky, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor. This job is full-time permanent.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the key functions of the Maintenance Supervisor are to lead efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment. Candidate must have a personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervise and support a crew of Journey-level Mechanical and/or Electrical-Instrumentation (EI) employees; identify & implement improvements in process & equipment reliability across their area of the Mill by working closely with operations & maintenance personnel; provide technical assistance, reliability leadership/support; responsible for rotating on-call responsibilities; review requests for work, initiate and/support work planning activity & oversee the work order flow to completion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Technical/trade school diploma with emphasis in mechanicaltechnologyand a minimum of two ( 2 ) years of maintenance supervision experience --OR-- Bachelor’sDegree in Engineeringand one ( 1 ) year of maintenance supervision experience

A personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence

Safety & team oriented with a good worth ethic, positive attitude & the ability to lead a crew of Mechanics to complete assigned task

Familiar with reliability-centered maintenance practices & predictive maintenance tools, including but not limitedto vibrationanalysis, thermography, lube analysis, ultrasonic analysis & failure analysis techniques

Strong equipment & system troubleshooting aptitude

Good written & oral communication skills needed to effectively communicate technical activities across all levels of the organization

Frequent walking, climbing ladders & stairs; crawling into confined spaces; measure/lift/carry objects of varying weights

Exposure to dust, heat, dirt, grease, chemicals, noise, various weather conditions & other industrial environments

Use of PPE & respiratory protection is required

• Able & willingto support the demands of a 24/7 operation

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical/trade school diploma with emphasis in mechanical technologyand a minimum of five ( 5 ) years of maintenance supervision experience --OR-- Bachelor’sDegree in Engineeringand two ( 2 ) years of maintenance supervision experience

Experience with SAP Enterprise system which includes Plant Maintenance management processes

• Vibration Analysis – ISO Category I Certification
• Lubrication Engineer/Analyst training
• Reliability centered maintenance training
• Pulp and Paper experience
• Presentation Skills – able to work with diverse group of people to resolve issues
