Job summary

Ivy Park at Otay Ranch in Dana Point, California is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance of facilities and provide quality care for residents. Responsibilities include managing the physical plant, assisting with apartment turnovers, and ensuring a safe environment.

Preferred candidates will have at least six months of relevant experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to communicate effectively. Benefits include medical, dental, 401(k), and more.

Qualifications

• Prefer six months of experience in maintenance or housekeeping.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical plant, exterior, and interior common areas.
• Assist with apartment turnovers including painting and cleaning.
• Ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Encourage teamwork with co-workers and other departments.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of the physical plant, exterior, and interior common areas, and individual resident units in the Community, in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Ability to assist with apartment turnovers – painting, carpet cleaning, pressure washing.
• Maintain grounds including pool and spa if applicable.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Prefer six (6) months of experience in the building industry, maintenance, and/or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters. Knowledge of building construction is helpful.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
