Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking an Maintenance Supervisor to join our compassionate care team in full-time roles across multiple communities. The position focuses on hands-on maintenance, safety, and preventive upkeep to ensure a home-like environment for residents.

You will supervise routine maintenance, monitor equipment, coordinate with housekeeping, and manage materials and inventory. A strong customer-service mindset helps deliver reliable facility services for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks as needed, aligned with skills and facility policy.
• Monitor equipment and systems; perform preventive/corrective maintenance promptly.
• Assist in operating general systems (heating/cooling) and report issues immediately.
• Assist housekeeping with heavy floor care and cleaning tasks as needed.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are available; manage inventory and records.
• Maintain outdoor walkways safely; oversee snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Ensure modifications and repairs comply with procedures, codes, and laws.
• Follow MSDS and waste disposal procedures.
• Assist in inspections, drills, and training; report outcomes.
• Use equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems are monitored routinely, and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption to a safe, comfortable environment.
• Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately.
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning, trash collection, and/or removal.
• Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establish and maintain inventory and records of purchase.
• Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition for use, i.e., assure prompt snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance, or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws.
• Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
• Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure.
• Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures.
