Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians while remaining hands‑on with equipment, ensuring reliable operation of high‑speed packaging lines. This role oversees training, scheduling, and performance of 35 technicians and is responsible for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of packaging machines, including form‑fill‑seal gel lines for nutrition and personal care products. The supervisor supports a multi‑shift operation with equipment running 24/7 and plays a key role in maintaining safety, efficiency, and product quality in a manufacturing and packaging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of 35 maintenance technicians, providing guidance on best practices, safety, and technical procedures.
  • Create and manage technician schedules to ensure adequate coverage across 2nd and 3rd shift operations and rotating weekend shifts.
  • Perform hands‑on preventive maintenance on packaging machines, conveyors, motors, and related equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production and packaging equipment.
  • Support and maintain a gel form‑fill‑seal line for nutrition and personal care products, ensuring consistent operation and product quality.
  • Work with manual machines and tools to manufacture or modify parts on the spot to keep equipment running efficiently.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace bearings, servo motors, motors, and other mechanical components as needed.
  • Utilize knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC), digital logic systems, and process controls to assist in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and symbols to identify issues and implement effective repairs.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on three‑phase, AC/DC circuits, and advanced electronics to restore equipment functionality.
  • Conduct routine inspections of packaging machines, including Mespacks, Protopacks, Volpaks, and Allpacks, and document maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production teams to prioritize work orders and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and performance issues.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support packaging operations in a warehouse environment where bulk product is received and individually packaged.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area, contributing to overall facility cleanliness and equipment reliability.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by recommending upgrades, process improvements, and maintenance best practices.
  • Drive between facilities or vendors as needed using a valid drivers license and adhering to acceptable driving standards.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 35 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 23 years of maintenance supervisory experience leading technicians or similar staff.
  • Hands‑on experience as a maintenance mechanic working with production and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production equipment quickly and effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience operating manual machines to manufacture or modify parts on the spot.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including work with conveyors, motors, bearings, servo motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance practices for high‑speed packaging equipment.
  • Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and process controls.
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on three‑phase, AC/DC circuits, and advanced electronics.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical symbols.
  • Understanding of digital logic systems and basic robotics related to automated equipment.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with packaging machines such as Mespacks, Protopacks, Volpaks, and Allpacks.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Associate degree or technical certifications in a related field are preferred.
  • Experience in food and beverage or packaging equipment environments.
  • Electrical skills, including troubleshooting and repair, are a strong plus.
  • Comfort working with servo motors, conveyors, and other automated packaging components.
  • Ability to work effectively on 2nd or 3rd shift with rotating weekend coverage.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions under time pressure.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with technicians and production teams.

Work Environment

The role is based in a warehouse and packaging environment where bulk product is received and then individually packaged. Portions of the facility are climate controlled, providing a comfortable and consistent working temperature. The workspace is clean, organized, and structured to support efficient maintenance and packaging operations. The facility operates multiple shifts, including 2nd shift (approximately 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday) and 3rd shift (approximately 8:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., Monday through Friday), with rotating weekend coverage of one out of three Saturdays and one out of three Sundays. The environment includes extensive use of packaging equipment such as Mespacks, Protopacks, Volpaks, and Allpacks, along with conveyors, motors, and automated systems. Work is hands‑on with mechanical and electrical systems, and employees are expected to follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain a neat, professional appearance suitable for a manufacturing and warehouse setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Carrollton, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $81120.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
