Responsibilities

Job Description

The Sr Building Maintenance Mechanic coordinates, schedules, and performs routine mechanical maintenance and repetitive work on the building, building support systems, and outside services that support the manufacturing operation. This role ensures that facility equipment and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, with a strong focus on HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, and general building maintenance. Candidates MUST have experience doing maintenance within manufacturing companies

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule routine mechanical maintenance for building systems, plant equipment, and facility infrastructure.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment.

  • Carry out building maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general facility upkeep.

  • Install, maintain, and repair facility and plant equipment, including hydraulics and pneumatics systems as needed.

  • Conduct boiler maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation.

  • Perform maintenance repair activities on facility systems to minimize downtime and support production.

  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors to support facility maintenance and services.

  • Schedule and coordinate work and workflows with internal teams and external service providers.

  • Use basic hand and power tools daily to complete maintenance, installation, and repair tasks.

  • Support seasonal facility needs, including assisting with snow removal in winter and facility upkeep in summer.

  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and all safety policies while working in production and warehouse areas.

  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and document work performed in accordance with facility procedures.

Essential Skills
  • Strong experience in HVAC systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven expertise with boilers, including boiler maintenance and safe operation.

  • Hands-on experience with air compressors and related plant equipment maintenance.

  • Solid experience in building maintenance and facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Ability to perform electrical work related to facility and equipment maintenance.

  • Proficiency in plumbing repairs and maintenance for building support systems.

  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in a maintenance technician capacity.

  • Skilled in installation, maintenance repair, and preventive maintenance of facility and plant equipment.

  • Capability to perform carpentry and painting tasks as part of building upkeep.

  • Daily use of basic hand and power tools with strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts with outside vendors.

  • Ability to schedule and coordinate work and workflows effectively across multiple tasks and stakeholders.

Work Environment

This role operates in both indoor and outdoor areas of a manufacturing facility, including production and warehouse spaces. The mechanic works in a GMP environment and must be comfortable wearing safety glasses, hair nets or beard guards, and closed-toed shoes in designated areas. Cell phones and music are not permitted on the manufacturing floor to maintain safety and focus. The warehouse area can become warm during the summer months, and the mechanic may be exposed to a noticeable menthol smell. Seasonal responsibilities include assisting with snow removal during winter and facility upkeep in summer, requiring readiness to work in varying temperatures and conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $83000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
