Job summary

Batesville is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent in Batesville, IN to plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance and facilities activities across the plant. You will analyze and improve plant operations, lead a skilled maintenance team, and drive reliability through preventive maintenance and CI initiatives.

You will oversee resources, safety, and quality metrics, collaborate with engineering and production, and manage tooling, parts, and contractors to keep equipment available and productive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Maintenance required; six+ years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing maintenance teams with focus on safety, scheduling, project completion and reducing lost cycles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate maintenance and facilities activities; ensure safety policies are followed.
• Lead maintenance group leaders and technicians in mechanical, electrical/electronic repair and parts management.
• Coordinate resources, materials, and permits to maximize productivity and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Review reports, plan preventive maintenance, and schedule major overhauls in collaboration with production and engineering.
• Supervise hourly and exempt staff; conduct interviews, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.* Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.* Other duties may be assigned. ## What You'll Bring: ## Education Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering or Maintenance; and six or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ## Skills/Experience * Ability to train, manage, lead, and/or understand LEAN or CI activities and initiatives preferred* Basic Microsoft Office required.* 6+ years of management/supervision experience with an emphasis on scheduling, safety, project completion, and lost cycle* Experience in a Union environment is preferred* Experience in JD Edwards and AutoCAD## Travel Employee must be able to travel 5% of the time. **Physical Demands**To perform this job successfully, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee.
