Job summary

Batesville's Manchester Assembly Plant is seeking a Second Shift Superintendent to oversee manufacturing activities for the shift and ensure safety, quality, and on-time production. You will lead a team of supervisors and 5–8 sub group leaders, implement lean manufacturing principles, monitor performance, and develop talent to meet company goals.

Travel up to 25% may be required. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and

Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and location.* IMMEDIATE ELIGIBILITY – Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as prescription coverage, short-term disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and more.* Generous 401K Matching Program* Paid time off* Opportunities for development and advancement### **What You'll Do**### * Responsible for administration of systematic, proactive safety program* Assures capacity is available to meet production schedules on-time, while meeting quality specifications and also meeting delivery schedules* Provides leadership to meet budgetary goals.* Analyzes daily production and operating reports and facilitates countermeasures to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to meet policy deployment objectives.* Responsible to ensure process to develop and revise standard work, job instructions and process controls, and also confirms workers comply with standards.* Provides leadership in teaching and developing the organization in lean manufacturing principles,* Provides leadership to develop organization, and procures high levels of talent to meet company strategy, as well as tactical plans.* Assesses, analyzes and provides interventions to improve human performance.* Provides communication, resources, development, and human resource support to assure union avoidance techniques are effective.* Provides leadership to provide consistent enforcement of plant work rules.* Resolves worker issues at lowest level in a consistent, unbiased proactive manner.* Manages 5-8 subordinate Group Leaders who oversee other shifts or areas of the production department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.* Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.* Other duties may be assigned.## # What You'll Bring:## EducationBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or eight years similar experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.## Skills/Experience* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply such concepts as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
