Job summary

Town of Blacksburg, VA is seeking a skilled laborer to support capitol construction projects and water/sewer maintenance. You will perform hands-on tasks with tools, assist with meter, hydrant, and valve work, and help install taps on live lines in varying weather.

Job description

This position will perform skilled labor for various capitol construction projects, and repairs to both water and sewer utilities. This position will also be responsible for assisting with the removal of snow during periods of inclement weather.

Spring/Summer Shift:

April 1st - August 31st, Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm

Fall/Winter Shift:

September 1st - March 31st, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Education andExperience

Special Requirements

• A valid Virginia Commercial Driver’s License – Class B and an excellent driving record are required.
