The City of Winchester is seeking a Public Services worker to perform hydrant repairs and testing, locate underground utilities, and assist with water and sewer maintenance. The role includes meter reading and data entry, leak checks, and meter installation/removal.
Responsibilities cover maintenance on pumps and equipment, use of basic hand tools, and snow/ice removal with possible 12-hour shifts including nights and holidays. A valid CDL-B with tanker endorsement by probation end is required.
Education and/or Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required and some related experience in the construction/plumbing industry is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possession of a valid and appropriate driver's licenses and the ability to obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker endorsement by end of probation period.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend. Ability to speak and communicate effectively using correct English.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to wear self-contained breathing apparatus which may be necessary for entry into confined space.
