Principal Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation to locate root causes, dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing device performance, and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
- Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; evaluates alternatives to improve cost and reliability; compiles retrofit, upgrade, or functionality enhancement options.
- Independently performs maintenance according to industry standards; creates maintenance standards and instructions for new or altered equipment.
- Guides customer teams in maintenance optimization, reliability, and preventative maintenance processes.
- Sets up and operates machining tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and may perform welding tasks.
- Follows safety policies, rules, and regulations; maintains situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Documents work in service reports and management systems; develops technical manuals and maintenance processes for equipment upgrades and automation.
- Assists lower-level technicians and project teams; performs training and development functions.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve hardware/software and configuration issues.
- Uses advanced maintenance technologies to monitor equipment performance, observe trends, and recommend actions.
- Leads technical training programs for customers and coworkers.
Essential KSAs & Competencies
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associates degree with technical focus + 12 years of related experience, or 15 years of industry experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
- Ability to use basic and specialized tools, including programming software.
- Extensive travel required (local, national, international).
Desirable KSAs
- Experience with condition-based maintenance, mechanical alignments, automation integration.
- Experience with PLCs, troubleshooting field devices, electrical drives, motors, and motion control devices.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and occasionally sitting. Must lift/move over 50 pounds. Regularly uses vision. Exposure to weather, electrical shock, hazardous materials, and noisy factory environment.
