Full Time, Day Shift, M-F with some weekends

Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years of age or older

Job Requirements

1. Education: High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to perform basic mathematics computations.
2. Experience: Knowledge of diesel engines and generators preferred. Familiarity with fire pump, sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishers is preferred. At least two years of experience in general maintenance within hospital settings. Working knowledge of boilers and related equipment is preferred. Must hold a current boiler operator’s license or be eligible to obtain one. Licensing must be obtained within six months of employment. Ability to perform preventative maintenance on emergency generators, fire extinguishers, and related equipment within six months of entry.
3. Physical Requirements: This is a safety-sensitive position. The environment may be noisy and dirty, with proximity to emergency generators, fire pumps, and high-pressure steam equipment. Requires good vision and hearing, standing, walking, and manual dexterity. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs with assistance, and pushing/pulling up to 200 lbs.

Job Summary

Responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs of emergency generator systems, fire pump and sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and other equipment. Maintains building and equipment in good repair, performs inspections, installations, and repairs. Familiar with operating high-pressure steam boilers and related equipment. Ability to work under difficult and emergency conditions with minimal supervision. Will train new employees on preventative maintenance and hospital layout, including weekend duties.
