Job summary

LUMA Residential is seeking a Maintenance Service Assistant to respond to maintenance requests, perform preventive maintenance, and prepare apartments for new residents. You will work with the Service Manager on inventory, cost-saving ideas, and team support, while building positive relationships with residents and colleagues.

The role requires HVAC/EPA certification, plumbing, carpentry, electrical troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to participate in on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• HVAC/EPA certification and knowledge of refrigerants.
• Proficient in plumbing, carpentry, electrical troubleshooting and general repairs.
• Experience maintaining older assets/properties (built in the 1980s) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, resolving most within three days.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep systems running smoothly.
• Prepare units for new residents to ensure move-in readiness.
• Assist Service Manager with team support, inventory, and cost-saving ideas.
• Build positive relationships with residents and team; represent LUMA professionally.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergencies.
• Diagnose and address maintenance issues in older communities.
• Use maintenance software, mobile apps, and digital tools for tasks.
