Job summary

Benton Communities in Columbia, Maryland is seeking a Service Manager to oversee maintenance operations for residential properties. The role reports to the Community Manager and operates under established policies and procedures.

The Service Manager ensures the upkeep of major appliances and equipment, coordinates with management on preventive maintenance, and leads service staff to deliver high levels of customer service. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience and/or training required.
• HVAC, electrical, and plumbing certifications highly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Reading and writing simple sentences; basic measurement units knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance to preserve buildings, fixtures, and equipment.
• Operates and maintains furnaces, ACs, stoves, refrigerators, water heaters, and other major appliances.
• Coordinates with Community Manager on preventive maintenance and logs.
• Supervises service staff and evaluates performance.
• Handles emergency conditions and restores affected areas.
• Maintains records of maintenance, inventory, warranties, and dates.
