Job summary

Benton Communities, a Columbia, Maryland based property management firm, is seeking a Service Technician to perform preventive and maintenance tasks across apartment communities. You will handle basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs while upholding safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities include documenting issues, coordinating with the Community Manager, and assisting contractors on major projects. A valid driver’s license and strong resident service skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience and/or training.
• Proficient communication skills with residents and team members.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to comprehend simple written sentences and use units of weight, volume, and distance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and maintenance tasks for the apartment community and residents.
• Handle routine repairs including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Address urgent issues such as sewer backups or water flooding; perform cleanup and restoration.
• Document deficiencies and submit reports to the Community Manager.
• Collaborate with contractors for major repairs and property enhancements.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, manuals, warranties, and safety records.
• Snow removal from walkways and communal areas; apply ice melt to prevent slips.
