The Maintenance Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Scheduler/Planner is responsible for overseeing and executing work control processes involving installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, along with other instrumentation and electrical systems used in wastewater treatment. The role includes planning, scheduling, inspecting work performed by SCADA technicians and electricians, improving workforce effectiveness through proper planning and coordination, verifying progress, and suggesting performance improvements. Additionally, the Scheduler/Planner maintains accurate records on planning and scheduling functions, resolves equipment issues, and assists PVSC Engineers in inspecting and managing contract work related to SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must possess technical knowledge and experience in overseeing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and repair of industrial instrumentation and SCADA software, including experience with program logic controllers (PLC). Strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and in-depth knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance principles in wastewater treatment are essential. Ability to monitor and prioritize work orders, review operating procedures, and manage multiple projects from start to finish is required. Knowledge of instrumentation, SCADA, electrical trades, and the ability to install, program, troubleshoot, and repair SCADA systems are necessary. Familiarity with wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and safety precautions related to electrical and SCADA maintenance is also required. Proficiency in PC applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), self-motivation to learn new technologies, and effective multitasking skills are essential.
Experience and Education: High School or Vocational School Diploma required. Must have experience with Wonderware, RSLogic, and Allen-Bradley PLC. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in SCADA, instrumentation, control devices, and electrical systems is required, with at least 5 years in maintenance related to wastewater treatment or industrial processes. Additionally, at least 5 years managing technical projects in industrial or institutional maintenance are necessary.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations, including entry into confined spaces with PPE (personal protective equipment), climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., balancing, walking, stooping, and handling heavy objects.
Working Conditions: Primarily in an office environment, with external conditions at wastewater treatment facilities and sewer systems.
