Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Maintenance Repairman 2 to keep Carlisle Readiness Center buildings, systems, and equipment in safe, efficient condition. You will handle painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and system maintenance to support mission readiness.

The role requires multi-trade hands-on experience, a PA Class C license, and the ability to perform essential duties with reliability; travel may be required, and telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years in building/plant maintenance with at least two of the trades.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Criminal history reports may be required for a conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Paint interior and exterior surfaces after surface prep.
• Install and repair fixtures, fittings, and piping across building systems.
• Perform structural repairs, install doors/windows, and finish work.
• Install circuits, lighting, switches, and monitor safety systems.

This position focuses on maintaining and repairing building systems, equipment, and structural features to ensure the Carlisle Readiness Center operates safely and effectively. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Painting Tasks: Prepare surfaces and apply paint to interior and exterior areas of the facility
• Plumbing Repairs: Install and repair fixtures, fittings, and piping across building systems
• Carpentry Work: Complete structural repairs, install doors and windows, and perform finish work
• Electrical Support: Install circuits, lighting, switches, and monitor safety systems
• System Maintenance: Service HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and automated controls
• Grounds Care: Maintain landscaping, remove snow and debris, and support facility upkeep

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
• Travel as required
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

• You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
