Job summary

Pilot Company in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair facility issues at travel center locations. You will coordinate with store staff and vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective resolutions and track work orders.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic knowledge of building systems, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with EMS and Excel is a plus; multiple duties require organization and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Minimum one year’s experience in retail facility support preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills with intermediate Excel.
• Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, fire, plumbing, electrical).
• Basic knowledge of facility management and EMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting support and repair coordination for routine facility-related issues at travel center locations.
• Liaise with store employees and vendors to ensure timely repair of facility issues cost-effectively.
• Determine whether repair or replacement based on cost parameters.
• Calculate total job costs and manage the work order process (POs, dispatching vendors, cost revisions).
• Source parts and equipment cost-effectively.
• Coordinate with regional maintenance technicians to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships for pricing and quality.
• Provide training on basic facility maintenance procedures to store personnel.
