Job summary

Portland Specialty Baking seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead a maintenance team, manage budgets, and ensure upkeep of ovens, mixers, handling systems and conveyors. You will coordinate with departments, vendors, and customers to service equipment and improve processes.

You will plan projects, schedule tasks, oversee safety protocols, and aim for 90% preventative maintenance completion, while directing continuous improvement of manufacturing methods and controls across shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or trade certificate in a related field with five years’ experience in maintenance/operation of a process manufacturing facility.
• In-depth experience and knowledge of food manufacturing and repairs/maintenance of processing equipment.
• Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and 3D CAD skills.
• Knowledge of tooling design and fabrication.
• Proven ability to manage multiple project plans with strong time-management skills.
• Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Three years’ maintenance technician experience and two years’ supervisory experience.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting skills; competent welding skills; solid electrical troubleshooting skills; read blueprints/schematics.
• Willingness to work all shifts and weekends; follow OSHA safety guidelines (Lockout/Tagout).

Responsibilities

• Manages and justifies all budget and resource allocation decisions to senior management.
• Plan direct and lead project activities.
• Identify and schedule project deliverables and required tasks.
• Act as liaison between the project and management.
• Direct and coordinate activities for Mechanics to ensure timelines are met.
• Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes in line with specs and quality standards.
• Oversee policies, procedures, controls and safety compliance.
• Consult with staff to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Set goals and objectives; maintain a 90% preventative maintenance completion rate.
• Order parts; address issues promptly; participate in regular staff/management meetings.
