Job summary

Lawson is seeking a Maintenance Prep team member to support the maintenance staff in Virginia. The role covers plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and general upkeep of multifamily properties, with emphasis on vacant apartment prep and timely completion of projects.

You will perform installations, inspections and basic repairs, working in a collaborative environment with opportunities for growth and competitive benefits as part of a Best Places to Work winner.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year maintenance trade experience.
• Formal training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall installation or air conditioning.
• Available to report to work during inclement weather events for property clean up and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Vacant apartment prep
• Perform, with good workmanship, all assigned maintenance projects in a timely manner
• Perform plumbing, electrical, painting, concrete, masonry, minor extermination and carpentry work
• Repair, replace or install signage, glass, tile, carpet, cove base, fixtures, venetian blinds, locks, doorknobs and hinges etc.
• Inspections
• Turn Inventory control
• Perform, with good workmanship, all assigned maintenance projects in a timely manner
• Janitorial
• Assist in janitorial work by performing necessary "on-the-spot" corrections and reporting deficiencies in janitorial services
• Other duties as assigned
