Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities and grounds with focus on plumbing maintenance, installation and repairs on campus.
• Repair furniture and equipment; move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed and preventive maintenance is performed.
• Monitor and service plumbing systems.
• Assist with equipment such as geothermal heat pump systems, chillers, AHUs and boilers.
• Seasonal snow removal and groundskeeping duties.
• Work with outside contractors for inspections and large projects.
• Respond promptly to employee needs and concerns.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Maintenance Plumber position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the facilities and grounds at Sandhills Global with a focus on plumbing maintenance, install and repairs on campus. Prior experience and knowledge in general plumbing is required. It will require a significant amount of independent judgement and initiative to identify and diagnose problems and implement preventative maintenance. Additional duties include performing repairs to furniture and equipment, moving furniture and equipment, ensuring maintenance schedules are followed, and monitoring plumbing systems. Position may also have exposure to different types of equipment in general maintenance such as geothermal heat pump system, chiller with water cooling tower, roof top air handling units, exhaust fans, boilers and more. This position will be expected to help repair and maintain this equipment with minimal supervision.

Seasonal duties include snow removal and grounds keeping responsibilities. This includes lawn mower, tractor, snow blower and power tool operation. Will also work with outside contractors for inspections and large projects. Responding in a prompt, professional manner to employee needs and concerns is an important aspect of this position. Assume other duties as assigned.
