Job summary

Sandhills Global is seeking a Maintenance Plumber to oversee the facilities and grounds with a strong focus on plumbing work, installations, and repairs on campus. The role requires independent judgment to diagnose issues and implement preventative maintenance.

In addition to plumbing, responsibilities include repairs to furniture and equipment, seasonal snow removal, lawn and grounds tasks, and coordination with outside contractors for inspections and large projects.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance, mechanical, groundskeeping, plumbing experience required.
• Industrial trouble shooting experience.
• Ability/experience reading blueprints preferred.
• Certifications within the plumbing field preferred.
• Valid Nebraska driver’s license.
• Stable and progressive work history.
• Hard working self starter.
• Willing to accept responsibility and initiative.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Willing to learn.
• Flexible and adaptable.
• Vendor management skills.
• Ability to read and fully understand cautions and warnings.
• General understanding of safety precautions (i.e., power equipment, cleaners, etc.).
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at least four feet high.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work at extreme heights.
• Ability to assist with snow removal and groundskeeping when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of facilities and grounds with a focus on plumbing maintenance, installation and repairs on campus.
• Perform repairs to furniture and equipment, move items as needed.
• Ensure maintenance schedules are followed and monitor plumbing systems.
• Work with outside contractors for inspections and large projects.
• Respond promptly and professionally to employee needs and concerns.
• Seasonal duties include snow removal and grounds keeping responsibilities.
• Operate lawn mower, tractor, snow blower and power tools as required.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
